GROTON — Stonington High's Sam Montalto scored three times, all on assists from Tyler Fidrych, and the Bears shut out Fitch, 3-0, in an ECC out-of-division boys soccer game Saturday.

Stonington (9-0-2) led 2-0 at the half. Fitch (8-2) was riding a five-game winning streak, outscoring those opponents 17-1. Both of the Falcons' losses this season have come against the Bears.

Montalto leads the Bears with 17 goals, while Fidrych has 13 goals and 17 assists.

Stonington, which has won four straight, is off until Oct. 21 when it hosts East Lyme at 7 p.m.
