NORTH STONINGTON — Matt Pierce scored three goals, Ian Spracklin finished with two goals and two assists and the Wheeler High boys soccer team defeated Killingly, 6-1, on Thursday to extend its unbeaten streak to five games.

Wheeler (4-3-1) led the ECC out-of-division game 3-0 at halftime on two Pierce goals and one by Spracklin. Mike Caster had an assist.

Spracklin, Scott Pion and Pierce scored in the second half. Goalie Bowen Baker finished with five saves.

"We played one of the better games of the year, a complete game from beginning to end," Lions coach Joe Mendonca said.

Wheeler held a 14-10 shots advantage over Killingly (3-4-1). Both teams had two corner kicks.

Wheeler next plays at Parish Hill on Wednesday at 3:45 p.m.
