BURRILLVILLE — Luke Gencarella scored a goal and assisted on another as Westerly High shut out Burrillville, 2-0, in a Division II boys soccer game Thursday.

Gencarella headed in a ball from Blake Busch in the first four minutes to give Westerly a 1-0 lead.

Nico Serluca scored Westerly's next goal from about 12 yards out after receiving a pass from Gencarella.

Westerly goalie Jack Healy made eight saves.

"Jack played like a champ," Westerly coach Brian Williams said. "We controlled the game pretty well and kept our composure."

Burrillville fell to 0-2-1, 0-2-1 Division II.

Westerly (2-1-1, 2-1-1) next travels to Stonington on Saturday to play Fitch in the Piver Cup tournament at 3 p.m.
