WATERFORD — Tyler Fidrych scored a pair of goals and reached the 100th point of his career as Stonington High defeated Waterford, 2-0, in an ECC out-of-division boys soccer game Saturday.
Fidrych gave the Bears a 1-0 halftime lead, scoring off an assist from Cole DeVoe.
In the second half, he converted a direct kick from about 28 yards out. Fidrych now has 12 goals and 10 assists this season. For his career, the senior has 31 goals and 41 assists for 103 career points.
Stonington, which has allowed just eight goals in nine games, limited the Lancers to only one shot on goal. The Bears finished with seven shots.
Waterford dropped to 3-5-1 with the loss. Stonington (7-0-2) next travels to NFA on Tuesday for a 3:45 p.m. game.
