WESTERLY — Westerly High's Blake Busch scored the tying goal on a penalty kick with three minutes left in the first half to make it 1-1 against Wheeler School, and that's the way the Division II boys soccer game ended Friday.

Each team finished with seven shots, but the Warriors (4-4-5, 4-4-5 Division II) had a decided edge in corner kicks, 7-2.

The Bulldogs (6-6-2, 5-5-2) are 2-1-1 over their last four games.

"We're up and down, all over the place," coach Brian Williams said. "We have no luck. But tonight we had luck because they should've beaten us."

Williams said the Warriors missed on a penalty kick and had better chances than the Bulldogs.

Goalie Jack Healy "made a couple of great saves," Williams added, one on a free kick and the other on a blast from 35 yards out that, unfortunately for Westerly, Wheeler School turned into a goal on the rebound. Healy finished with six saves.

Westerly will next look to clinch a playoff berth on Tuesday at home against Mount Pleasant. Kickoff is at 4 p.m.
