STONINGTON — Granby scored three goals in the fourth quarter and topped Stonington High, 14-11, in the first round of the Class S boys lacrosse tournament Wednesday.

The match was tied at 11 after three quarters. No. 11 Granby finished with a 17-5 advantage in faceoffs.

"Faceoffs were the hardest part. The lack of possession was a game changer," Stonington coach Nick Warhola said.

Christian Hudson led No. 6 Stonington (11-7) with four goals. Sean Peglow contributed two goals and three assists, Lucian Krohholm had a goal and an assist, and Marco Tedeschi scored twice.

Aaron Lahah and David McCarthy each added goals, and Stonington goalie Tyler Flynn finished with 11 saves.

Granby next plays Bacon Academy at Conn College in New London on Saturday at 1 p.m.
