WESTERLY — Westerly High opened the Division III boys lacrosse playoffs in record-setting fashion, defeating Providence Country Day/St. Raphael, 15-3, on Thursday at Augeri Field.

Mark Buckley finished with three goals and two assists, giving him a school record 48 assists for the season. Lucas Hiltz held the previous record of 45 in 2015.

Ben Morrone finished with four goals and three assists. Morrone has 103 points this season. Last Friday against Stonington, he surpassed the previous record of 88 established by T.J. Dobson in 2016.

Shaye Pasell scored three times, and Brandon Chretien had two goals and two assists. Joe Fusaro added two goals and an assist, and Aaron Keegan had a goal and five assists. Goalie Brandon Tallardy made nine saves.

Westerly led 13-2 after three quarters.

PCD/SRA finished the season 9-6.

Westerly (14-3), the fourth seed, will face No. 1 Burrillville in the semifinals. The date has not been finalized.
