MIDDLETOWN — The Eastern Connecticut Eagles scored three second-period goals en route to a 6-0 victory over Cheshire in a boys ice hockey game Saturday night at Wesleyan University's Snyder Rink.

The Eagles led 1-0 after one period, but got goals from Will Canella, Evan Tower and Kyle Marino in the second period to take a commanding 4-0 lead.

Canella, a Stonington High senior, finished with two goals and one assist in the regular-season finale for both teams. Tower also had two goals and one assist, and Kevin Yang chipped in an assist for his first varsity point.

Goalie Wes Williamson earned his first varsity shutout for the Eagles (10-9-1).
