WESTERLY — Westerly High senior Jack Adams earned All-Southern Division first-team honors for the golf team this season.
Adams was awarded for finishing in the top six for the season in scoring average in league matches. Adams had a scoring average of 43.6 for all his matches, 7.9 strokes above par.
"Overall, he did well. He made it to states as an individual, which was much tougher this season as the coaches association tried to reduce the number of golfers at the state tournament," Westerly coach Gary Korytkowski said.
"When he played well in his matches, he got off the tees really well and his irons were pretty good."
The top 50 players in the state qualified for the state tournament at Cranston Country Club. Adams shot a 21-over 92.
Westerly finished 4-9-1 overall and in the division.
