WATERFORD — Waterford outscored Stonington High by 16 points in the second quarter and topped the Bears, 76-66, in an ECC out-of-division boys basketball game Tuesday night.

Stonington (8-9) led by six points, 15-9, at the end of the first quarter, but trailed 32-22 at the half. Waterford (7-9) had a 16-point lead, 54-38, at the end of the third quarter.

Dorian White scored a career-high 23 points for Stonington. Sam Montalto also had a career-high with 14. Zach Scott made three 3-pointers and finished with 17.

Ryan O'Connell led Waterford with 32 points and 16 rebounds.

Stonington next hosts Woodstock Academy on Friday at 7 p.m.
