HIGGANUM, Conn. — Haddam-Killingworth limited Wheeler High to 13 points in the second half and topped the Lions, 53-38, in a nonleague boys basketball game Wednesday night.

Wheeler led 25-18 at the half, but was outscored 35-13 thereafter.

"It was a tight game into the fourth quarter, but the ball just didn't go in," Wheeler coach Neal Cobleigh said. "We didn't move the ball quite as well in the second half."

Ian Spracklin led Wheeler (3-8) with 15 points. Scott Pion and Bowen Baker finished with eight each.

H-K, a Shoreline Conference school, moved to 5-5.

Wheeler next travels to Griswold on Friday for a 7 p.m. game.
