WOOD RIVER JCT. — Jack McMullen’s corner 3-pointer at the overtime buzzer lifted East Greenwich past Chariho High, 68-66, in a Division II boys basketball game Tuesday night.
Chariho was leading, 66-65, when the Avengers missed a 3-pointer, but McMullen (15 points) came up with the ball in the corner and put up the winning shot.
Chariho, which had a 14-point lead with nine minutes to play, had tied the game at 61 on a runner by Levi King at the buzzer to end regulation. King finished with 17 points and 15 rebounds.
Nathaniel Felicetti had a big game for the Chargers with 20 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists. John Pellegrino had 19 points and four 3-pointers.
East Greenwich, the defending D-II champion, moved to 7-1, 6-0 Division II. Chariho (5-6, 2-4) next travels to West Warwick on Friday for a 6:45 p.m. game.
