WESTERLY — Bereket Janat scored all 12 of his points in the second half and grabbed 13 rebounds to help Westerly High defeat Burrillville, 59-42, in a Division II boys basketball game Wednesday.
The victory was the eighth straight for the Bulldogs (14-4, 11-3 Division II).
"Bereket missed a few games for us a couple weeks ago with an ankle injury and tonight was the first game he looked like his old self," Westerly coach Mike Gleason said. "He was aggressive inside, especially in the second half, and hit the offensive boards."
Jawarie Hamelin added 12 points, five rebounds, five assists and four steals, and Patrick Murphy had 12 points and six rebounds.
Westerly led 29-25 at halftime before pulling away.
Ryan Lockwood led the Broncos (5-13, 4-10) with 16 points.
