EAST GREENWICH — Chas Morgan scored 22 points and Connor Warner made two big 3-pointers down the stretch as Westerly High defeated East Greenwich, 66-63, in a Division II boys basketball game Tuesday night.

Westerly trailed 15-4 early in the first half, but was able to cut the deficit to two points, 34-32, at the half.

"The second half was back and forth," Westerly coach Mike Gleason said. "Connor Warner hit two big 3s in the final four minutes. One with about a minute and half left gave us a three-point lead. Chas had four 3-pointers in the second half."

Bereket Janat made two free throws with 15 seconds left to give Westerly a three-point lead, 66-63.

"Those were big foul shots with a lot of pressure," Gleason said.

Morgan finished with six 3-pointers and Warner had three. Jawarie Hamelin finished with 11 points, 10 rebounds and five assists. Janat also had six rebounds.

East Greenwich dropped to 8-8, 6-6 Division II.

Westerly (11-4, 8-3 Division II) has won four straight. The Bulldogs next host West Warwick on Thursday at 7 p.m.
