COLCHESTER, Conn. — Zach Scott scored a career-high 28 points and Stonington High qualified for the state tournament with a 69-54 ECC Division II boys basketball win over Bacon Academy on Thursday night.
Stonington outscored Bacon 26-10 in the second quarter to take a 36-21 halftime lead.
Scott scored 11 points in the big quarter, with three of his four 3-pointers.
Dorian White added 13 points, six rebounds, five steals and three assists, and Sam Montalto had seven points and five steals.
James Anderson was the top scorer for the Bobcats (4-10, 33 Division II) with 16 points.
Stonington (8-8, 3-3) next travels to Waterford on Tuesday for a 7 p.m. game
