STONINGTON — Marquis Jackson scored 16 points with four 3-pointers as Stonington High topped Prout, 64-27, in a nonleague boys basketball game Saturday afternoon.

Stonington (3-0) led 29-10 at the half.

R.J. Parrilla finished with 12 points and Zach Scott scored 11, including three 3-pointers. Jackson led the team in rebounds with eight.

"We ratcheted up the defensive intensity and it turned into offense," Stonington coach John Luzzi said. "Our defensive rotations were very good. Every shot was contested and we got the outcome we wanted."

Prout, a Division II school in Rhode Island, dropped to 1-5. Stonington next competes in the WCCU Holiday Basketball Tournament on Wednesday in Westerly at 6:15 p.m. against South Kingstown.
