OLD LYME — Old Lyme scored the winning run with two outs in the bottom of the seventh to top Wheeler High, 5-4, in a nonleague baseball game Thursday.

Wheeler (4-8) had tied the game with a run in the top of the seventh on a sacrifice fly by Aidan Cameron that scored Justin Veal (2 for 3). Veal had reached on an infield single earlier in the inning.

Connor Melinosky drove in a pair of runs with a double in the fourth inning.

Veal entered the game in the fourth inning and struck out three as he took the loss. He allowed just one earned run.

Old Lyme improved to 9-8. Wheeler next travels to Tourtellotte on Saturday for an 11 a.m. game.
