PROVIDENCE — Mount Pleasant scored two runs in the sixth inning and ended Westerly High's five-game winning streak with a 3-1 Division II baseball win Wednesday.

Zach Beckler drove in Koby Varas with Westerly's only run, coming in the third inning. Varas had singled and stole second.

Westerly finished with just four hits and no player had more than one. Mike Fiore did double.

Westerly (7-3, 7-3 Division II) loaded the bases in the seventh, but was unable to score.

Matt Brissette pitched all six innings and took the loss. He allowed just one earned run.

The Kilties moved to 3-7, 3-7. The two teams play again on Friday in Westerly at 4 p.m.
