GROTON — Wheeler High limited Norwich Tech to just two hits but lost to the Warriors, 2-1, in a nonleague baseball game Thursday at Washington Park.

Norwich Tech (5-8) scored a run in the first and another in the third.

Matt Pierce hit a two-out single to score Aidan Cameron with Wheeler's only run in the bottom of the third.

Cameron was 3 for 4 with a double. Eric Henderson also contributed two hits.

Justin Veal took the loss despite allowing just one earned run.

Wheeler (3-6) next travels to Putnam on Saturday at 10 a.m.
