SEEKONK, Mass. — Westerly High took advantage of 16 Wheeler School walks and prevailed, 17-7, in a Division II baseball game Friday.

The game ended after five innings due to the mercy rule.

Koby Varas and Mike Fiore drove in four runs each. Varas had an RBI single in a nine-run third inning and a two-run single in the fourth.

Fiore hit two sacrifice flies and brought home another run with a groundout.

Jackson Shaffer, James Adams and Zach Beckler finished with two hits each.

Reliever Dean Pons Jr. pitched two innings and allowed just one earned run to get the win.

Wheeler School is 8-8, 8-8 Division II. Westerly (12-5, 11-4) next hosts Mount Pleasant on Monday at 4 p.m.
