WESTERLY — Zach Beckler collected three hits and drove in four runs as Westerly High downed Mount Pleasant, 12-3, in a Division II baseball game Monday at Cimalore Field.

Beckler hit a three-run single in the second inning. Jackson Shaffer (3 for 5) drove in two runs with a single in the first inning and later doubled.

Westerly led 8-0 after two innings.

Koby Varas hit a two-run single in the fourth inning and finished 3 for 4. Tom Algier had two hits, including a double, and Luke Gentile also had two hits.

Reliever Dean Pons Jr., who entered the game in the fourth, earned the win.

Mount Pleasant dropped to 3-11, 3-11 Division II. Westerly (13-5, 12-4) next hosts Woonsocket on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
