MONTVILLE — Montville racked up 14 hits and defeated Stonington, 12-2, in an ECC Division III baseball game Tuesday.

The contest was stopped after six innings by the mercy rule.

Nahki Snyder had a single and an RBI for the Bears (3-4, 1-2 Division III), who finished with four hits.

Unbeaten Montville (6-0, 3-0) ended the game with four runs in the bottom of the sixth.

"We didn't get off the bus ready to play," Bears coach Bob Cahoone said. "Montville's a very good team, the first-place team in our division, and we went up there and weren't ready to play."

Stonington next hosts Wheeler on Thursday at 4 p.m.
