WILBRAHAM, Mass. — Four Chariho High wrestlers earned five wins each during the Falcon Duals at Minnechaug Regional on Saturday.

Kyle Merritt (145, 152 pounds), Dominic Bonanno (152, 160), Wade Husing (113) and James Dougherty (170) each finished 5-0.

Chariho (13-12-1) defeated Longmeadow, 53-12, Xaverian, 51-30, and Northbridge, 54-12. The Chargers lost to Brookeline, 35-29, and tied Lowell, 42-42.

Merritt defeated Xaverian's Michael Bobala, the third-ranked wrestler in Massachusetts, 5-3.

"He was never at risk. He was in much more control than the 5-3 score shows," Chariho coach Scott Merritt said.

Merritt improved to 44-0 with 25 pins. Merritt had two pins, a tech fall and a forfeit in his other four matches.

Bonanno finished with four pins and a major decision. He is 35-3 with 26 pins. Dougherty finished with three pins, a major decision and a forfeit. He moved to 39-4 with 25 pins.

Husing had two pins and three forfeits.

Nate Marchione was 4-1 at 195 and 220 with three pins. Lance Delbonis had a pair of pins and a decision at 182. He is 40-3.

Allie Nelson (138, 145) recorded three pins on the day. Gary Gardiner also had a pin at 285.

Chariho is off until Thursday when it travels to Lincoln for a 6 p.m. match.
