PROVIDENCE — Westerly High's Brian Garcia advanced to the consolation semifinals during the first day of the state wrestling tournament Saturday at the Providence Career & Technical Academy.

Garcia posted a record of 3-1 at 126 pounds. The top three wrestlers qualify for New Englands, and Garcia still has a chance for third.

The tournament resumes Sunday at PCTA. Doors open at 11:30 and wrestling starts at 12:30.
