WESTERLY — South Kingstown High and Westerly High will play in the WCCU Holiday Basketball Tournament boys JV championship game on Friday.

Westerly advanced with a 55-47 win over Chariho High on Wednesday at Federico Gym, while South Kingstown defeated Stonington, 69-62, in overtime.

Westerly led Chariho, 24-10, at the half.

Tim Hence led the Bulldogs in scoring with 24 points, with many of his field goals coming in transition. Braydan Chiaradio added nine points. Nate Allen was the top scorer for Chariho with 14.

South Kingstown got past Stonington in the first game of the day, outscoring the Bears, 14-7, in overtime.

The game was tied at 23 at the half and 55 at the end of regulation.

Dorian White led the Bears in scoring with 16 points, including all seven of his team’s points in overtime. Marco Tedeschi finished with 10 points.

Scott Cromack was the top scorer for the Rebels with 28 points. Connor Horrigan finished with 11.

South Kingstown and Westerly will play for the title on Friday at 4 p.m. Stonington and Chariho will meet in the consolation game at 2:15 p.m.
