PROVIDENCE — Chloe Joslin drove in all three runs as Chariho High defeated Moses Brown, 3-1, in the quarterfinals of the Division I softball tournament Thursday.

No. 5 Chariho (19-3) next faces No. 1 Pilgrim on Tuesday at Rhode Island College at 5 p.m. in the semifinals. The tournament will now be double elimination.

Chariho scored twice in the first. Haylie Wellman and Kate Powers opened the inning with singles. Joslin singled to bring them home.

In the fifth, Powers walked and scored from first base on a Joslin double to the right-center field gap.

Powers struck out 12 and limited No. 4 Moses Brown (12-9) to three hits. Moses Brown's Celia Macari homered in the first inning, but the Quakers did not get a runner to third base after that.

Chariho's Jackie Altieri finished 2 for 3. Caitlin O'Leary doubled, but twisted her knee in the second inning and was forced to leave the game. O'Leary, the team's top hitter with a .519 average, returned in the seventh to hit and play in the field.
