WOOD RIVER JCT. — Emma Hughes and Brianna Denecour scored two goals each as Chariho High topped Lincoln School, 6-1, in a Division II girls soccer game Thursday.

Spencer Shiels and Emily Seekell each added one goal, and Rebekah Sullivan had a pair of assists.

"Our defense did a good job of breaking up the play and played a huge role in transition," Chariho coach Brittney Godbout said. "Emma Hughes did a good job of moving forward and not always being in a defensive mindset."

Godbout said Tia Sardelli and Daria DiBiasio played well in the back as the Lincoln School (1-3, 1-3 Division II) finished with just one shot.

Chariho's Emily Feisthamel and Julia Potts had one assist apiece.

Chariho (2-1, 2-1) next plays Stonington in the Piver Cup Tournament on Saturday at Stonington High at 3 p.m.
