WOOD RIVER JCT. — Chariho High's Sommer Choiniere scored with 59 seconds left in the game to cut Johnston's lead to one, but that was as close as the Chargers would get in an 11-10 Division II girls lacrosse loss Wednesday.

Chariho trailed 8-4 at halftime and outscored the Panthers 6-3 the rest of the way but it wasn't enough.

Mollie Dyer led the Chargers (4-5, 4-5 Division II) with two goals and two assists. Choiniere, Maura Beaudreau and Emily St. Lawrence each scored twice, and Layne Hart and Bella Couri each scored once.

Chariho finished with a 14-13 shots advantage over Johnston (8-3, 8-3).

The Chargers next host Rogers on Friday at 6 p.m.
