MIDDLETOWN — Middletown scored 11 goals in the second half and topped Chariho High, 19-9, in the Division II girls lacrosse semifinals Wednesday.

Middletown led 8-4 at the half.

The No. 3 Islanders (11-3) advanced to face top-seeded Westerly in the D-II title match Saturday at 4 p.m. at Cranston Stadium.

"They have a better team, better stick skills and they scored on every opportunity," Chariho coach Brittney Godbout said. "We didn't finish a lot of our opportunities."

Mollie Dyer scored four times and had an assist for Chariho. Maura Beaudreau finished with three goals, and Emily St. Lawrence and Gina Foley each scored once.

No. 7 Chariho finished 6-7.
