Westerly High's Josh Lacerte has been named a Golden Dozen recipient by the Emo DiNitto/Rhode Island Football Foundation.

Chariho's Ricky Evola was named a Silver athlete.

The pair will be among 31 senior football players recognized "for their extraordinary achievement in the classroom and on the gridiron," according to a news release from the foundation.

Honorees must have a B-plus or better GPA, make All-Division or All-State and be exemplary citizens.

Two of the players will receive $1,000 college grants.

The awards dinner will take place at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Warwick at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24.
