SMITHFIELD — Chariho dropped its Division II opener, falling to Smithfield, 2-0, on Tuesday.

Smithfield led 1-0 at the half, scoring with about five minutes remaining.

The Sentinels scored their second goal with about four minutes left in the game.

Smithfield finished with three penalty corners, while the Chargers did not have any.

Smithfield outshot the Chargers, 5-2.

Chariho goalie Hannah Smith finished with three saves, and Mia Holroyd had two for Smithfield

Chariho next travels to South Kingstown on Friday for a 3:45 p.m.
