WOOD RIVER JCT. — A class of five will be inducted into the Chariho Athletic Boosters Hall of Fame on Saturday, April 6 at Richmond Country Club

Maddie Potts, the Chariho High soccer player who collapsed on the field during a game on Sept. 24, 2017, and later died, will be honored with the Gary Harrison Spirit of Sports Award. Her parents, Stephanie and Dan, will accept the honor.

David Liese,

Class of 1971

Liese was a two-time All-State performer in soccer.

He was first team his senior year and second team as a junior. He also earned honors in baseball and basketball, and was the Chariho Athletic Association 1971 co-Athlete of the Year.

He earned a bachelor's degree in history from Kansas State. He retired as a U.S. Army major after 20 years of service.

Liese lives in Circle, Mont., with his wife and son. He enjoys golfing, bowling and hunting.

Bill Burrell,

Class of 1984

Burrell, who died in March 2018, was an All-State performer in track.

He was third in the long jump and fifth in the triple jump at the state meet as a junior. He placed second in long jump, third in the triple jump and fourth in the high jump as a senior.

Burrell was the school record holder in both the long jump and triple jump, and earned numerous All-Division and All-Class honors.

He was a member of the Narragansett Indian tribe and a Rhode Island state marshal.

Brad Borsay,

Class of 2010

Borsay earned All-State honors in two sports.

He was first-team All-State in volleyball as a junior and senior, and third team as a sophomore.

He was All-State in soccer, and second-team Division I-South in basketball.

Borsay graduated from Sacred Heart in 2014 with a bachelor's degree in athletic training. He is currently a physical therapy student and will graduate in May.

Nick Dubee,

Class of 2010

Dubee was an All-State, All-New England and All-American soccer player in 2008 and 2009.

He also received the Gatorade Player of the Year both seasons. Chariho won the state title in 2009. Dubee was first-team All-Division four times.

Dubee was also an All-State hurdler and received numerous All-Division honors in both indoor and outdoor track.

Dubee played Division I soccer at the Naval Academy, where he earned first-team All-Patriot League honors twice. Navy won the league championship in 2013.

Dubee lives in San Diego, where he is a Naval officer.

Tyler Zegarzewski,

Class of 2010

Zegarzewski earned All-State honors in basketball, golf and soccer.

Zegarzewski was first-team All-State in basketball and golf his senior year. He also established the school record for the javelin.

He was second-team All-State in golf and soccer as a junior.

He played on the Division I soccer championship team, and received the state James Federico Award for basketball in 2010.

Zegarzewski played basketball and was on the track team at Campbell University. He holds the school record for the indoor heptathlon and has the school's second-best javelin throw.

He earned a bacherlor's degree in kinesiology. He lives in Plano, Texas, where he works a a field supervisor for Frymine Home Services.
