COVENTRY — Two Chariho High competitors placed third in their events at the Class A boys track championships Saturday at Coventry High.

Tim Champlin finished third in the 1,500 (4:04.05), as did Perry Sabourin in the long jump (22-2.75).

Chariho placed eighth with 22 points. Bishop Hendricken won the event for the 42nd straight time with 191 points. La Salle was second with 85, and North Kingstown took third with 48.

Hendricken or La Salle has won the title 53 of the last 56 years.

Matt Dickerman, Champlin, James Penhallow and John Tripodi placed third in the 4x400 (3:44.48).

Sullivan Cummins, Dan Nimiroski, Sam Steere and Dickerman finished fourth in the 4x800 (8:48.88).

Chariho next competes in the Hendricken Invitational in Warwick on Saturday at 10 a.m.
