CRANSTON — Jay Nilsson scored three goals as Chariho High shut out Cranston West, 3-0, in a Division II boys soccer game Friday.

Devin Jessop finished with a pair of assists. Seth Dube also also assisted on Nilsson's first goal. Nilson, a sophomore, has eight goals this season.

Chariho (4-5-1, 4-3-1 Division II ) has won three straight.

Chariho led 1-0 at the half and went ahead 2-0 in the first three minutes of the second half.

Goalie Jacob Linacre saved a penalty kick by the Falcons that could have reduced the deficit to just one goal. Linacre finished with seven saves.

Cranston West dropped to 2-8, 2-8.

Chariho next travels to Lincoln on Monday for a 6:30 p.m. game.
