WOOD RIVER JCT. — Nine Chariho High players scored goals as the Chargers shut out winless Wheeler School, 18-0, during a Division II boys lacrosse match Tuesday, Chariho's Senior Night.
It was the 50th win for the seniors on the team. Chariho (3-12, 3-11 Division II) had won the previous two Division III titles with a combined 35-0 record before moving up to D-II this season.
Chariho led 12-0 at the half.
"We came out hot and almost all of our seniors got a goal," Chariho coach Ryan Meade said. "It was a good win in our last league game [of the season]."
Evan Judkins finished with five goals and three assists, and Charlie Krause contributed three goals and five assists.
Nathan Allamby added a goal and four assists, Luke Mead contributed two goals and an assist, and Rogan Wotherspoon and Lucas Santos scored two goals apiece.
Paul Marshall, Brayden Birrell and Ryan Robalewski each scored a goal. Marshall also had an assist.
Goalie Adam Leander made 11 saves. Chariho won 12 of 19 faceoffs.
Wheeler is 0-9, 0-9 Division II.
Chariho (3-12, 3-11) closes the season Saturday at Stonington at 10 a.m.
