WOOD RIVER JCT. — Pilgrim's Emidio DeSousa-Rosa scored the winning goal with 1:33 left in double overtime as the Patriots beat Chariho High, 7-6, in a Division II boys lacrosse game Tuesday night.

Pilgrim keeper Hunter Sutcliffe made 22 saves.

"We had four shots in overtime and the Pilgrim keeper made four good saves," Chariho coach Ryan Meade said. "We had our chances. I thought we played well on both sides of the ball, but their goalie made 22 saves."

Chariho trailed 5-4 at the end of the third quarter, but tied the score in the fourth to force sudden-death overtime. The teams play four-minute overtime periods.

Nathan Allamby finished with three goals and an assist for Chariho (0-6, 0-6 Division II). Evan Judkins scored twice, and Roger Wotherspoon had a goal and an assist.

Chariho held a 29-15 shots advantage over the Patriots (5-1, 5-1). The Chargers also won 14 of 17 faceoffs.

Chariho next travels to Ponaganset on Thursday for a 6:30 p.m. game.
