COVENTRY — Coventry defeated Chariho High, 9-6, in a Division II boys lacrosse game Monday, snapping a 35-game winning streak by the Chargers.

Chariho had won the last two Division III championships with unbeaten seasons of 18-0 and 17-0. The last loss before Monday was to Burrillville on June 2, 2016 in the D-III semifinals.

Chariho moved up to D-II this season.

Nathan Allamby scored four goals for Chariho. Rogan Wotherspoon added a goal and two assists, and Paul Marshall scored once.

Chariho trailed 7-6 after three quarters.

The Chargers next travel to Cranston West on Wednesday for a 4 p.m. match.
