PROVIDENCE — Chariho High's James Penhallow finished first in two races during a Southern Division boys indoor track meet Monday at the Providence Career & Technical Academy.

Penhallow was first in the 3,000 (9:26.4) and the 1,000 (2:52.53).

Chariho (5-2) defeated Mt. Hope, 88-12, Narragansett, 70-34, and Prout, 52-49.

Sullivan Cummings was first in the 1,500 (4:34.9), and Matthew Brady won the weight throw (43-4.5).

C.J. Elwell was second in the 1,500 (4:38.01), and Finn Weeden was third (4:40.53). Elwell was third in the 55 hurdles (11.1).

Second-place finishers were Matt Dickerman, 600 (1:31.88); Joe Golas, 1,000 (2:53.52); Mason Payne, shot put (31-7); and Josh Benros, high jump (5-4). Benros was also third in the long jump (16-9.75).

Simon Manlove finished third in the 3,000 (10:39.17).

Nate Berry, Austin DeAngelis, Payne and Evan Vazquez placed second in the 4x200 relay (1:46.66).

Matt Dickerman, Cummins, John Tripodi and Mike Sheehan finished second in the 4x400 relay (3:56.9).

Chariho next competes in the Yale Invitational and Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday.
