PROVIDENCE — Chariho High's Tim Champlin finished first in the 3,000 and Joe Golas topped the field in the 1,000 during a Southern Division boys indoor track meet Monday at the Providence Career & Technical Academy.

Champlin posted a time of 9:29.65. Golas finished in 2:47.98.

Chariho (5-4) lost to North Kingstown, 78-31, and Portsmouth, 55-53.

Third-place finishers were Matt Dickerman (600, 1:31.85); C.J. Elwell (1,000, 2:47.98); James Penhallow (1,500, 4:23.20); Josh Benros (high jump, 5-4); and Shawn Eddy-Joost (long jump, 16-10).

Dickerman, Penhallow, Champlin and Josh Smithey combined to win the 4x400 (3:45.01).

Chariho will next compete in the division meet on Saturday at noon at PCTA.
