TIVERTON — Dylan LaBelle scored 21 points including an 11 of 14 performance at the free-throw line as the Chariho High boys basketball team defeated Tiverton, 51-47, in a Division II game Tuesday night.
Chariho also limited Tiverton's Carson Hart to 17 points. Hart scored five of those in the final two minutes.
"He averages 22 points a game, we did a good job on him," Chariho coach Corey Downey said. "With two minutes to go he had 12 points. We played man [defense] and a little zone tonight.
"We struggled hitting the 3-point shot, but we did a good job getting to the line."
Ryan Allen contributed 10 points. Downey said he made two big baskets in the first half when the Chargers trailed, 17-9.
"I just loved our grit tonight," Downey said. "We had some steals and got some points in transition, it was a great way to grind out a win."
Ben Harrison led Chariho in rebounding with eight.
Tiverton dropped to 7-5, 6-5 Division II. Chariho (8-8, 7-5 Division II) next hosts North Providence on Thursday at 7 p.m.
