CUMBERLAND — Chariho High pitcher Sean Sposato struck out 16 but the Chargers lost to Cumberland, 3-2, in a Division I-A baseball game Friday morning.

The Clippers (3-4, 3-4 Division I) scored once in the first and twice in the second. In the second, they scored their runs on a two-out RBI triple followed by a passed ball.

Sposato allowed three runs (two earned) on two hits and two walks in six innings. Chariho made two errors.

Zack Snow doubled twice and drove in a run for the Chargers (2-5, 1-5). Cam Anderson added two hits, including an RBI double. Chariho finished with seven hits, but didn't score after the third inning.

The Chargers next host Cumberland on Monday at 4:15 p.m.
