EAST PROVIDENCE — Chariho High starter Dylan LaBelle allowed just two hits but East Providence prevailed, 2-1, in a Division II baseball game on a windy Thursday at Pierce Field.

LaBelle (0-1) allowed two runs, one earned, in six innings. He struck out four and walked two.

The Townies (2-0, 2-0 Division II) scored the go-ahead run in the fourth, benefiting from two Charger errors and a wild pitch. One of the errors came on ball to the outfield that was affected by the swirling winds.

EP's win was its second over Chariho in three days.

Zack Snow had a two-out RBI single for the Chargers (1-2, 0-2) in the third, which tied the game at 1. Kyle Abbott and Cam Anderson each finished with two hits.

Chariho next hosts Smithfield on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
