WOOD RIVER JCT. — East Providence scored four runs in the top of the seventh and topped Chariho High, 4-2, in the Division I baseball opener for both teams on Tuesday.

Chariho led 2-0 before the seventh. Chariho walked in a run and the Townies had a two-run double in the big inning.

Chariho's Sean Sposato doubled in a run in the first and Cam Anderson singled in a run in the third. Sposato and Anderson each doubled.

Chariho finished with five hits.

Sposato pitched the first five innings striking out seven without allowing a run. Ben Harrison entered the game in the sixth and took the loss.

The two teams play in East Providence on Thursday at 3:45 p.m.
