MIDDLETOWN — The opportunity was there to knock off the only undefeated team remaining in the league. The Chariho High girls basketball team, though, didn’t quite do enough to pull off the upset as Middletown stayed perfect in Division II with a 42-35 win Friday night.

    WOOD RIVER JCT. — Chariho High won six matches with pins and topped Mt. Hope, 44-30, in a Division I wrestling match Thursday night.

      BOSTON — Chariho High's Tim Champlin won the varsity 1,000 at the Boston Holiday Challenge indoor track meet on Friday at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center.

      WESTERLY — Megan Albamonti stole an inbounds pass, drove to the hoop, scored and was fouled with four seconds left in the first half. Her free throw pushed the Westerly High School girls basketball team’s lead to eight heading into halftime and Albamonti had 11 of her team’s 21 points.

        PROVIDENCE — Abby Cole, Elizabeth LaCroix and Tia Sardelli all won races as the Chariho High girls indoor track teams earned two wins in a Dwyer Division meet on Thursday at the Providence Career & Technical Academy.
