It’s funny to me that even after the “die, Nazi scum” graffiti on the side of the Clydesdale Tavern made TV news six months ago, and even after several calls to the Westerly Police, I still can’t park to go for a walk on the beach in Weekapaug without seeing “SLAUGHTER” next to a Star of David spraypainted on the side of the bridge there.
Since when is this okay? This isn’t regular graffiti, kids. It is a disgusting act of hate and anti-Semitism, and the town should be utterly ashamed of itself for not cleaning it up as soon as it appeared. For a town so desperate to cater to out-of-state visitors (looking at you, MBA!), one would think that blatantly bigoted hate speech plastered across the bridge would be taken more seriously.
You really want people from out of state to pay into our economy when you can’t oblige anyone’s humanity, save the Catholics?
