There are two major reasons why I am disappointed with the decisions of the Town Council to cut the education budget. One reason is that our children are our future, and we handicap them and our town’s future when we underfund their education.

The other major reason is that one of the causes stated for why Rhode Island has such a poor business climate is that we do not have a properly educated workforce.

For these two reasons alone, our town should give greater priority to our children’s education.
