standing letters

A petition to protect Hopkinton land-owner rights is now circulating in town that says the following:

“We, the undersigned residents, taxpayers and voters of the Town of Hopkinton, support a zone change for the utility scale solar developments in the town in order to stabilize our property taxes, preserve our farm land for the future and to keep our senior citizens in their homes.

“We want solar development limited to no more than three percent (3%) of the Town’s land and all solar development to be buffered and hidden from view. We demand that our Town Council listen to the vast majority of our citizens and protect us from yearly property tax increase by allowing solar development which will reduce the tax burden.”

Please find someone that has this petition and sign it.

Or go to to sign a petition to preserve our residential, rural neighborhoods and to keep large scale solar from taking over our residentially zoned forests and fields -- farms are supported for 1 acre of solar to keep them viable.

The petition mentioned in the above letter supports 3% of our town -- that's 850 acres -- of residentially zoned land being converted to solar facilities. That would be like having 14 sites similar to what is under construction on Alton-Bradford Road, sprinkled around our small town.
