Thank you, Barbara, for a beautiful and meaningful song. Coming to Charlestown in the mid-fifties was a joyous experience.

So many positive memories of the old Cross’ Mills Fire Station, Quonochontaug Grange, fireworks on the Fourth of July and Turkey Saturday Nights. And of course, Charlestown Elementary School.

The most important of all of these, the caring people.

As a young kid in school, learning was easy because of Mrs. Crandall, Mrs. Trout, Mrs. Pine, Mrs. Wicklund, and Mr. DiPolino.

Thank you to all of the above, because they gave us all something you can never take away or forget: lessons in kindness and love.
