In his letter to The Westerly Sun dated Dec. 16, 2018, Mr. Steven J. Williamson asks: “Why can't Charlestown put the bike path north of Route 1?”
I believe that the more pertinent question is: Why should the town build the proposed bike path in the first place? Especially when the costs are estimated to be somewhere between $5 million and $10 million. Especially when we really don't need one.
The Town of South Kingstown has one starting at the Kingston train station about 6 miles away that travels all the way to Narragansett.
I think that Ms. Faith Labossiere, who is the champion of this asinine proposal, has taken leave of her sensibilities if she believes that the town's taxpayers will ever approve it.
