WESTERLY — The Domestic Violence Resource Center of South County will conduct a candlelight vigil on Tuesday at 6 p.m. in Wilcox Park in memory of all victims of domestic violence — particularly those from Rhode Island — as part of National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The event, which is free and open to all,  is intended to remember the victims of domestic violence and to support survivors, organizers said. Anyone who wishes to speak is welcome to do so.

The resource center, a nonprofit agency, works toward a future free of violence and a community in which each individual shares the responsibility of creating a culture of safety and personal dignity. The center works collaboratively to offer safety, support, advocacy, education and a network of services to residents of Washington County, and seeks to change the social conditions, actions and beliefs that perpetuate abuse.
